Meet John "JD" Donlevie

I have been working in the production industry since 1983. Primarily a video guy, I started in AV production and eventually worked with Showtime and HBO in the cable sports market.  Funny, the second picture has me at a lighting console, but the fact is I have always jumped in to support my co-workers and the production as needed, when needed.

With Covid came a resurgence in TV style production at all levels, suddenly everything old was new again. I laughed as folks reinvented a wheel I had been spinning since the late eighties back at Bell Atlantic. With mix-minus all the rage, Zoom and Vmix took over the landscape. Software kept business in motion and YouTube enabled the democratization of television.

Meanwhile, other tasks included projection mapping. Always known as the "Barco guy," the current models of UDX, while heavy, make a 'no apologies' picture wherever you aim them. Projection mapping is an art of love, it is definitely not easy, and you are up all night!

Whether its big or small, corporate or broadcast, I am always ready for a juicy video project.
